Can easily tip with your trumpet; buy the 5-legged K&M instead Nov 22, 2007

K&M 15201B Trumpet Stand
I used these stands for years, until one of my trumpets was knocked over with only a slight brush by my knee. The trumpet fell on a hard floor and damaged the 2nd valve slide assembly; after hundreds in repair bills, it never worked well again.
The problem is that this stand has a fatal design flaw, in that it tips over far too easily with your instrument on it.
Thousands of these tip-prone stands were sold (and are still in use) before K&M invented the much-more-stable , FIVE legged stand. Search Amazon on: K M trumpet stand
K & M should discontinue this three-leg model.

Pretty good stand Sep 09, 2009
By Gesualdo This stand does what I need it to do. It holds my trumpet when I don't want to - or can't for some reason. I've never bumped it so it tipped over, but I would advise buying the 5-legged model for that reason. However, it wasn't available when I bought mine.
I have encountered a couple of problems with mine, but they aren't enough of a problem to stop me from using the stand. The first problem is if you don't fold the legs perfectly, they don't screw into the base correctly. You have to line them up exactly. A minor issue. A less minor problem I encountered relatively early was the brackets that held the legs in place fell out. So every time I would unfold the legs, they would pop out of the screw mechanism. I would have to hold it together while I put the two parts of the stand together, and again while I took it apart to fold up. I finally fixed it with some super glue. The super glue has held it in place for over 10 years. If it ever falls apart again, I may chuck it and invest in the 5-leg model.
Buy the 5 leg one instead Jan 05, 2012
By E. Sikorski K & M makes great products, and this stand is no different. However, in the quest to make a more economy model, stability is sacrificed. For only a few more bucks, get the 5 leg model which is much more stable. It is worth it. K & M Trumpet Stand KCI also really like their flugelhorn stand. K & M FLUGELHORN STAND WITH 5 LEGS KC
I have used K & M stands for over ten years and they are still going strong. The threads on the base have not worn out and the legs are still doing their job. The felt on the holder is a nice touch to make sure there are no scratches on your bell.

Simple, compact, does the job Jun 01, 2009
By Russell Edward Button A simple and compact trumpet stand. What I like about it is that the feet fold up inside of it and then I put it in the bell of my horn and it fits nicely inside of any trumpet case. I always carry my horn in a gig bag and this little stand makes it easy.

The event was simply billed as "Willie Nelson Sings the Blues," but the historic two-night stand on January 12 and 13, 2007 at Jazz at Lincoln Center was far more than that. Call it a summit meeting between two American icons, Willie Nelson & Wynton Marsalis, two of the most significant figures in modern-day country and jazz, who discovered common ground in their love for jazz standards and the blues. Their performance stirred the sounds of New Orleans, Nashville, Austin and New York City into a brilliantly programmed mix that was equal parts down-home and cosmopolitan, with plenty of swing and just a touch of melancholy. To say that these shows were a hot ticket would be an understatement. Luckily, the tapes were rolling and the results of this unique collaboration now constitute the Blue Note album Two Men With The Blues for everyone who couldn't cram into The Allen Room.
