Fairly good beginner trumpet. Aug 29, 2007
By Ronald Walden
"Neat Receipts, Inc."
I've been playing the trumpet for about 10+ years now, and use this trumpet primarily for rehearsal settings. It's a good beginner trumpet, and a good rehearsal trumpet, but if you have been playing the trumpet for more than 3 years, then consider getting a professional trumpet. (Even though they're much more costly) This is a fairly decent trumpet for the price. Nice finish, durable case, valves a little crammed--however a good valve oil should solve it.
Can't beat it for $99!

Good instrument, great for the price Jul 19, 2009
By S. Bean The valves were sticky, but a little valve oil fixed that easily. The instrument itself is well constructed; it doesn't appear that any components are shoddy or that the manufacturer cut corners. The sound isn't professional obviously, but it does have a nice sound, and is easy to play. The mouthpiece is fairly run-of-the-mill, but by no means poor quality. Finally, the case is sturdy and well padded.
If you're just starting out, this is perfect. If you're a professional, this is a good rehearsal instrument.

Better than renting! Sep 05, 2009
By S. Heckman
"S. Heckman"
My son decided to give band a try this year, and I was a little overwhelmed by the choices of renting/buying....after going to our local music store and comparing the prices on Amazon, we realized we would come out ahead by purchasing the instrument. After comparing all the ones listed and reading the reviews, my son chose this one. He is very pleased with it, and for the price, I dont think we could go wrong. He and I both loved that it came with a hard case to protect it (he is a boy). Like I said, this is his first year at trying this instrument, so we are not experts in this field, but I believe we did very well in purchasing this one for him to start with.

Great Starter Instrument Jul 12, 2009
By Mary G. Corson For the past three years, my daughter has worked on a local service project to get musical instruments to schools in financially challenged areas. The members of the music honor society hold bake sales to raise money to buy some new instruments in addition to the used ones they collect.
According to the band director, this instrument was very affordable and very appropriate for students just starting out. The students used their bake sale money to purchase one of these each of the past three years, and the recipient band directors have been thrilled with it.

Frustrated Feb 17, 2010
By Barbara Tuley
"parafighterwife"
My son saved his money up to purchase this trumpet. He currently plays 6 different instruments, he wants to learn as many as he can. He purchased this with the knowledge that it was a "student" type trumpet, not like what we get from a professional store. The trumpet comes, everything looks great, even sounds good when he plays it but the valves are sticking, which is something that happens, hence the need for valve oil. He keeps oiling it and it will continue to stick, bad. Took it to our local music store for advice and they said this was made in China, the parts are not "stock" and we will not work on it and it will be hard to find anyone who will. My son is extremely frustrated because the instrument looks great and sounds great, but he can not play with out stopping to wait for the valve to pop back up! My advice, get one that is not made in china so you can have it fixed if something doesn't work! If we could find someone to fix it, there would be no problems!
