The standard by which others are measured Nov 04, 2009
By Austin Bass Save for the high end such as the Marcus Bona mutes, this cup mute nowadays is probably the professional standard by by which all other cup mutes are measured. I first bought it on reccomendation of multiple teachers, including one who plays in a major US orchestra, and I've played this mute for around 6 years. I have to say that I still absolutely love it. Some would say that it might be a little brighter and more metallic than the old school red and white 'stonewall; mutes, but to me those mutes seem dead and this one responds beautifully and has character. Further, an excellent feature that you can experiment with is the fact that the Wick is adjustable which means that you can take the cup part and adjust the distance it is from the bell, which modifies the sound. Thus you can mess with the distance to experiment with the type of sound you want. Fit and finish is outstanding, has lasted through heavy use through this long no problem. Excellent mute!

Very Nice Feb 17, 2011
By BAND GEEK I needed this for band and I ordered it not so long ago, and it came in fast (thanks to Amazon PRIME). It provided a nice sound quality, thus I did not know that it could also turn into a straight mute and I was AMAZED!!! I STRONGLY recommend this to all my fellow trumpet players out there!!!

Top Notch Cup Mute Dec 03, 2010
By E. Sikorski I bought this cup mute at the recommondation of my college professor some 7 years ago. Since then, this has been my go to cup mute for almost every type of playing. The tone is fantastic with just enough brilliance to cut through, but still a smooth cup sound. Pitch is also excellent, as is the mute's response. Never do I feel "backed-up" while playing this mute. It is free-blowing through all registers. Construction is top notch and the adjustable cup is an added bonus. Definitely recommend this as the cup mute to own.

Great Mute Dec 11, 2009
By Nei Correa I bought this for my daughter and she loved it. It not only has a great sound but it is also kind of a combo deal. If you remove the cup part, it can also be used as a straight mute.
Professional Gear! Mar 09, 2012
By Drifter What a great muted trumpet sound this mute produces. Exactly how you would expect a Pro trumpet mute to sound. It is well built and with average care, should last for many years. It can also be used as a straight mute.

The event was simply billed as "Willie Nelson Sings the Blues," but the historic two-night stand on January 12 and 13, 2007 at Jazz at Lincoln Center was far more than that. Call it a summit meeting between two American icons, Willie Nelson & Wynton Marsalis, two of the most significant figures in modern-day country and jazz, who discovered common ground in their love for jazz standards and the blues. Their performance stirred the sounds of New Orleans, Nashville, Austin and New York City into a brilliantly programmed mix that was equal parts down-home and cosmopolitan, with plenty of swing and just a touch of melancholy. To say that these shows were a hot ticket would be an understatement. Luckily, the tapes were rolling and the results of this unique collaboration now constitute the Blue Note album Two Men With The Blues for everyone who couldn't cram into The Allen Room.
