Not bad, but expected a little better... Oct 12, 2011

I purchased this trumpet in July 2011 for my son going into 6th grade. I am a former Bach Strad owner in the 80's. While this instrument looks great and sounds OK, the valves aren't crisp no matter how you oil them. Also, one of the spit valves does not seal well against the cork (spring is off and can't be adjusted properly). It is serving my son well (always a top chair out of 20) and I will keep it. But I expected a little better paying significantly more than other beginner trumpets out there to get the Bach name due to my past experience.

Great beginner trumpet Mar 08, 2012
By C. J. Davis The model I got was a TR-600 a couple years back; I hear that it's a similar model. Anyways, it's still clearly a very similar model based on the price. I got mine in fifth grade for band and it has lasted me until high school. The sound is okay, but not great. However, you get what you pay for. For the price, the sound wasn't a disappointment at all. It gets the job done, and you don't want to buy a fancy trumpet without knowing how long you'll be in band. The most important thing about this trumpet is that it's very well built and I have never had a single problem with it. The finish has worn off quite a bit since I first got it and due to dents the sound has gotten fuzzier and more distant, but it still works and nothing has ever been mechanically wrong with it aside from the fact that I can't pull out the second valve tuning slide-but who cares? It's not like Bs and F sharps tend to be out of tune on a B flat trumpet. Now that I'm getting into more advanced bands, it's time to upgrade. This trumpet has served me very well for four years and I recommend it to beginners.

The event was simply billed as "Willie Nelson Sings the Blues," but the historic two-night stand on January 12 and 13, 2007 at Jazz at Lincoln Center was far more than that. Call it a summit meeting between two American icons, Willie Nelson & Wynton Marsalis, two of the most significant figures in modern-day country and jazz, who discovered common ground in their love for jazz standards and the blues. Their performance stirred the sounds of New Orleans, Nashville, Austin and New York City into a brilliantly programmed mix that was equal parts down-home and cosmopolitan, with plenty of swing and just a touch of melancholy. To say that these shows were a hot ticket would be an understatement. Luckily, the tapes were rolling and the results of this unique collaboration now constitute the Blue Note album Two Men With The Blues for everyone who couldn't cram into The Allen Room.
