My favorite valve oil Jan 14, 2011
By bluereys This is definitely my favorite valve oil.
I have been playing trumpet for a little over twenty years, and everyone I play with uses this as well.
It provides the perfect viscosity for worry-free playing, but perhaps the best part about it is that it is colorless, as well as ODORLESS!
Valve oil inevitable drips on things you don't want it too, and it's nice not to have that oil smell and discoloration pervade your practice room, case, and things.
Love this stuff - highly recommended.

My "Go To" Oil Dec 02, 2010
By E. Sikorski I have used Al Cass exclusively for at least the past 10 years with great results. I have never had issues with sluggish valves or any other type of valve problem. In addition, I enjoy the larger sized bottles which seem to last forever. Usually I only have to oil my valves every two weeks or so. I personally don't use it for slides normally, but I have put it on my 1st and 3rd slides in a pinch and have had good results. It also works very well at thinning out thicker oils or greases for slides.
Also, can't beat Amazon prime shipping and Amazon.com prices!! (I just wish they would consolidate the three different Al Cass listings!)

Horn Oil Aug 10, 2010
By PaulG Great product. It keeps the valves on my 1971 Benge Los Angeles in fine working order. Great action on the valves and lasts a long time.

Just Your Average, Above Average Valve Oil Oct 17, 2008

"The Forgotten Trumpet"
I personally love this product. I have been playing trumpet for 8 years and I use this on my current horn all the time. It is a normal oil so do not mix it with an synthetic oil like Blue Juice. There is a huge list of famous performers who use this product and if you haven't used Al Cass, I would strongly suggest it over Yamaha, Bach, Clark Terry 44 and Jupiter valve oil. If you have extremely tight valves that normal valve oils just are too sluggish, try Clark Terry 44 or go synthetic.

Great Product, lousy bottles! Nov 25, 2011
By Jim B The oil itself is great - lasts about a week, no issues with stickiness.
But inevitably, for each bottle I use, the bottle cap becomes brittle, cracks, and falls apart. I fear carrying this oil in my case for worry that the cap is going to crack and make a mess in my case. I know of one other trumpet player who has the same complaint.
Five stars for the oil, one star for the bottle, that averages out to three stars.

The event was simply billed as "Willie Nelson Sings the Blues," but the historic two-night stand on January 12 and 13, 2007 at Jazz at Lincoln Center was far more than that. Call it a summit meeting between two American icons, Willie Nelson & Wynton Marsalis, two of the most significant figures in modern-day country and jazz, who discovered common ground in their love for jazz standards and the blues. Their performance stirred the sounds of New Orleans, Nashville, Austin and New York City into a brilliantly programmed mix that was equal parts down-home and cosmopolitan, with plenty of swing and just a touch of melancholy. To say that these shows were a hot ticket would be an understatement. Luckily, the tapes were rolling and the results of this unique collaboration now constitute the Blue Note album Two Men With The Blues for everyone who couldn't cram into The Allen Room.
